Dr. Flaggs, DVM

Dr. Flaggs began her journey in veterinary medicine in 1982 fresh out of high school, when she became an attendant at a large boarding kennel in Baltimore. She then pursued a degree in Veterinary Technology, graduating in 1985 and passing the boards to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. After working at numerous small animal practices in the Baltimore Area and inspecting meat for the Department of Agriculture, she made the committment to become a Veterinarian, receiving her doctorate in 1993 from Virginia Tech. Dr. Flaggs spent 10 years working at small animal practices on the Delmarva Peninsula before opening Cabin Creek Animal Hospital in May 2004. Aside from veterinary medicine, Dr. Flaggs enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, 5 dogs, camping, driving her vintage orange VW's, running marathons, and hosting her own Blues radio show on the local radio station WHCP. She was recently elected as Town Commissioner for East New Market.

Liz Gannon, BA

Liz Gannon, BA, joined Cabin Creek in November of 2005. She has a bachelor's degree from Washington College in Environmental Studies. Originally from Chestertown, MD, she has been in the animal care field since 2003. Her professional interests include practice management. As such, Liz is currently pursuing the professional designation of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, CVPM. She is also the member of the VHMA. She likes to read and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Liz and her husband, Frank, own Standardbred racehorses. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the track to watch them race and driving her Jeep on the beach. She and Dr. Flaggs started a non-profit in 2016 called "Fixing Cats For Shore". It is a low-cost spay/neuter program for outdoor cats in Dorchester County. Liz and Dr. Flaggs are currently working on building a kennel behind the animal hospital, Cabin Creek Bed & Biscuit, which is slated to open in 2018.

Heather Conaway, RVT

Heather joined Cabin Creek in September 2014 as a Registered Veterinary Technologist. She received her bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medical Technology from Wilson College. After graduation, she passed her boards and became a Registered Vet Technologist. Heather lives in her hometown of Delmar, DE and is also a kennel attendant at Ottertail Pet Resort in Delmar since 2012. When she is not caring for animals, she enjoys reading, going to the beach, hiking and spending time with family.

Becky Mitchell

Becky joined Cabin Creek as a technician in April 2015. She has been a vet tech for 6 years. She has a Boston Terrier named Josie.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Trevor, her family, and also growing in her faith. She also loves going to NHRA drag races, the beach, tractor pulls, and classic car shows in Trevor's 1969 Nova.

Ashley Kinnamon

Ashley joined Cabin Creek as a receptionist in the fall of 2016. She comes to us with a lot of experience as a receptionist in the human medical field. Ashley has a passion for animals and currently has 4 dogs and a guinea pig for her daughter, Olivia. She has been a Dorchester County resident her whole life and graduated from North Dorchester. When she isn't working, she is traveling around the country with her fiance, David Wilson Jr, enjoying trips to the beach, Orioles games, Ravens games, and just hanging out on the boat.

Heather Ewell

Heather joined Cabin Creek in March of 2017 as a veterinary assistant. She graduated from CSD in 2015. She comes to us with a lot of experience with animals. Before working here, she was at Maryland Shore Pet Resort for many years until it closed in fall of 2016. Her expertise is in animal care management and basic handling/training. When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her fiance, family, and animals. You'll see her riding around on her skateboard during lunch, she loves to be outside! She is currently planning her wedding for next May.

Ben Flaggs

Ben officially started working at Cabin Creek his sophmore year of high school as a kennel attendant after many years of helping around his mom's hospital as a kid. He graduated with honors from North Dorchester in 2015 and is in his junior year at The University of Maryland at College Park majoring in Physics. Upon graduating, he plans on working for NASA or becoming a veterinarian. When he isn't attending college, he comes back to the hospital to work as a veterinary assistant. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, running, and spending time with his girlfriend, Karelly.

Al Flaggs

Al has been helping out for years at his mother's hospital but officially started working here when he turned 15. He would work after school as a kennel assistant. Since graduating from North Dorchester this year, he is now working here as a veterinary assistant. He is currently enrolled at Chesapeake College with interests in Criminal Justice. His hobbies include soccer and running. He achieved the high honor of becoming an Eagle Scout this year.

Jenna Murtagh

Jenna joined Cabin Creek in 2014 as a kennel attendant while she was still in high school. She graduated top of her class, as valedictorian from North Dorchester in 2015. She is currently in her junior year at Stevenson University majoring in Biology. Her dream is to go to vet school and become a veterinarian. When she isn't attending college, she comes back to work at the hospital as a veterinary assistant. She loves the beach and is currently a lifeguard a few days a week in Ocean City. In her spare time she spends time with her friends, taking photographs, and going to North Carolina to see her boyfriend, Bryan, who is stationed there in the Marines.

Ryan Versis

Ryan joined Cabin Creek in the summer of 2016 as a veterinary assistant. He graduated from North Dorchester in 2016 and is currently enrolled at Chesapeake College. His interests are in Criminology and Forensics. When he isn't studying, going to classes, or working, he is playing soccer for Chesapeake and with his friends.
